Arrange your own Puerto Pollensa holiday

without comments

Puerto Pollensa is a stunning and lovely holiday resort in Majorca. It’s a superb holiday location away from the noise and racket of the tackier parts of Majorca. Not everyone wants to book a package holiday, and at the moment it might be much cheaper if you book your Puerto Pollensa accommodation and travel seperately. A lot of package tour operators profit from the fact that people are scared to book their own accommodation and flights in case something goes wrong. It’s actually very easy to organise your own holiday right through to booking a taxi (or a coach transfer) from Palma airport to Puerto pollensa.

So, how do you sort it out? Actually it’s very easy. There are several excellent online accommodation companies through whom you can book accommodation almost anywhere including Puerto Pollensa.  What you basically need to do is to match up the accommodation you want with a cheap flight. Here is out recommended plan for booking an independant Puerto Pollensa trip.

1. Choose your dates. It’s still very possible to book a cheap deal for August 2010 if you have to go in the school holidays.

2. Find your Puerto Pollensa accommodation. This couldn’t be easier. Use this easy search from Alpha Rooms who sell accommodation all over the world including Majorca! Booking direct can save you a fortune.

3. Find a matching flight for the dates you need. Try Wegolo (click here - opens in a new window) which is owned by the Coop which searches through the best low cost flights to help you to track down a bargain more easily.

4. Add up the cost of the accommodation and flights. Make sure you allow for any luggage charges for your flight as they’re not always immediately obvious.

5. Find out how much a transfer to your hotel will cost from transfer companies like Holiday Taxis (click here – opens in a new window).

6. Consider holiday insurance – try  1stopinsurance . Also, make sure you get an up to date E111 form from your local post office (to entitle you to reciprocal EU medical treatment).

7. Take a look at some holiday companies who also sell seperate flights and accommodation like Lowcostholidays and see if you’ve found a better deal than they are offering.

8. If you have, then book it and look forward to a bargain holiday organised by you!

Welcome to Puerto Pollensa Travel

without comments

Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful seaside town in northern Majorca in the municipality of Pollensa. It is located between Cala San Vicenza and Alcudia and has built up a reputation as a wonderful family and couple friendly resort with wonderful beaches, superb restaurants, and wonderful scenery.

Pollensa Market

The market in medieval Pollensa town

Pollensa (Pollença)  town itself is a short bus ride away for those who like to see some history, and it has some stunning  medieval architecture with a bustling market on Sunday mornings selling both local as well as tourist goods.

Puerto Pollensa is generally regarded by many who visit as a “hidden gem” because it feels largely unspoilt by mass tourism. It is also very quiet and family oriented, and it doesn’t tend to attract heavy drinking Union jack sporting “brits abroad” or groups of youths. Despite it being very much geared to peace and tranquility, it has many lively and superb quality restaurants and bars with local entertainers performing throughout the season. You certainly won’t find any “sticky Vicky” type shows here though. Please take a look around the site, we’ll be adding accommodation reviews and other information and we hope you enjoy your next visit to Puerto Pollensa whether it’s your first time or your hundredth.
